Green Lawn Abbey

The Abbey’s Future

One of the things we are most excited about is the future of the Abbey. When the Preservation Association first began working on the Abbey, it was hard to see what she could become through all of the damage and vandalism.  Over time, though, we have been able to secure the assistance of numerous organizations in planning for the Abbey’s future. With the help of a grant through Ohio Historical Society, we were able to partner with McGill Smith Punshon, Inc., to create a master plan for the Abbey.

As you can see, there’s a lot of work ahead, but we are looking forward to the future grounds.  They will include gated access and improved parking (4) and overflow parking (6), as well as a drop-off area with easy access to the Abbey (2).  Columbaria with niches for cremated remains and scattering gardens will also be added (3, 5, and 7). The entry plaza will be redesigned and landscaped to become a gathering area, suitable for many activities (1).  Finally, a secure storage area to help maintain the physical plant of the Abbey will be installed in the back (8).

All of this takes money.  Will you consider becoming a member today by clicking on the “Donate-Purchase Tickets” link to the right?  It will take you to our online store where you can purchase an annual membership to help support us in the work we are doing.  You can also make a one-time donation there.  The Association is recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the state of Ohio, so your donation may be tax deductible.
