Walker T. Dickerson, president and owner of one of the country’s largest corrective shoe manufacturing concerns, died Friday morning at University Hospital where he had been confined for the last three weeks.
The well-known manufacturer of women’s shoes became ill just a few days prior to his 80th birthday. His illness caused the cancellation of a huge birthday celebration at the Southern Hotel to which his 350 employes had been invited.

Mr. Dickerson had been in the shoe business practically his entire life, beginning as a traveling shoe salesman in his native state of Indiana. In 1902 he came to Ohio as a salesman for the Julian and Kokenge Co., of Cincinnati. After 22 years with that company, he became associated with the P. Sullivan Co., and in 1919 was named vice president and general manager. Coming to Columbus in 1924, he accepted the position of general manager of the Lape
