FORMER MAYOR'S WIFE DIES AT HOME
--Mrs. Kate M. Van Dine Karb Succumbs at 83.- -
Bronchial pneumonia, complicating a cerebral hemorrhage suffered Tuesday night, resulted in the death Wednesday midnight, of Mrs. Kate M. Van Dine Karb, wife of Columbus' beloved former Mayor George J. Karb. She succumbed at her home, 1788 Bryden road, at the age of 82. She had been in ill health for several years.
Mrs. Karb was a native of Zanesville and was brought to Columbus by her parents when a child of two years. In 1884 she was united in marriage to former Mayor Karb, whose death occurred two years ago.
Surviving are a nephew, Harvey S. Cashatt, 208 South Parkview avenue, and three cousins, Harvey DeVennish and Minnie Knorr, both of 1927 Wilson avenue and Arthur DeVennish of near Briggsdale. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal church.
Friends may call at the residence where private services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, with Rev. C. Ronald Garney, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal church, officiating. Entombment will be in Green Lawn Abbey, in charge of O. R. Woodyard.
