Joseph H. Mosel, 59, vice president and director of the Jaeger Machine Co. since 1929, died early Wednesday at his home, 2120 Elgin Rd. He had been ill two and a half weeks.
Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Mosel became associated with the Lakewood Engineering Co., Cleveland, at an early age. He was general superintendent of that company when he left there in 1929 at the time the Lakewood company was merged with the Jaeger organization, and came to Columbus to take charge of all plant operations. That same year he was elected vice president and a director of the Jaeger Company, still remaining in charge of factory operations.
Mr. Mosel was a member of the Athletic club, Scioto Country Club, Columbus Maennerchor, Knights of Pythias, Lions Club, Masonic, Elks and Moose Lodges.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; three children, Mrs. Gertrude Berry, Detroit, Mrs. Florence L. Thompson, and Roy A. Mosel; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. William Cox, Cleveland; and a stepmother, Mrs. J. Mosel, Los Angeles.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Schoedinger chapel with entombment in Green Lawn Abbey. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Thursday.
